Wimberley Village Library
The obvious place to start is the Wimberley Village Library, but there are actually quite a few different ways to find books here.
The library has books for adults, teens and children, along with audiobooks, magazines and other materials. Books and CD books generally check out for three weeks, and the library also participates in interlibrary loan if they don’t have the title you’re looking for.
And you don’t necessarily have to visit the library to borrow something.
Library cardholders can access the library’s digital collection of eBooks, audiobooks and magazines through Libby, making it one of the easiest ways to keep a steady supply of books on your phone, tablet or e-reader.

Books of Wimberley is a traveling secondhand bookshop created by local resident Nicolle Reid. The shop began as a way to sell gently used books at area markets and eventually grew into a mobile bookstore inside an enclosed trailer lined with bookshelves.
The collection includes books for adults and children, and because the inventory is secondhand, browsing is part of the fun. You never quite know what you’re going to find.
Books of Wimberley regularly pops up at local markets and events around Wimberley, so checking their social media is the best way to find out where the trailer will be next.

Wimberley Market Days
If you enjoy digging for treasures, don’t overlook Wimberley Market Days.
With hundreds of booths spread across Lions Field, Market Days is one of those places where you can find almost anything—including plenty of books. The official Market Days vendor directory even includes books as a searchable product category.
There is also a vendor at Market Days with more of a dedicated bookshop-style booth, along with other vendors who may have books mixed in with antiques, collectibles and vintage goods.
Market Days can be particularly good for things you don’t always see in a traditional bookstore: older novels, vintage children’s books, cookbooks, Texana, coffee-table books, collectibles and out-of-print titles.

The Village Store
One of the best places in town to browse inexpensive used books is The Village Store.
The nonprofit thrift shop specifically carries both vintage and modern books, and the children’s area can also include children’s books, coloring books and educational materials.
Like any good thrift shop, the selection changes constantly. You may find nothing one week and come home with an entire stack the next.
Purchases from The Village Store also help support local nonprofit organizations, so your book habit can do a little good for the community at the same time.

Wimberley Thrift Shoppe & Boutique
Another place worth checking for used books is the Wimberley Thrift Shoppe & Boutique on Ranch Road 12.
Inventory at the shop comes from donations and changes regularly, so books are more of a treasure hunt than a guaranteed selection. That’s also what makes thrift-store book hunting fun.
Take a look through the shelves for novels, cookbooks, children’s books, reference books and other donated titles while you’re there.

It’s the kind of place where the books are part of the treasure hunt. You might find an old children’s classic you remember from growing up, a wonderfully dated cookbook, or an unusual vintage title that you wouldn’t come across in a typical bookstore.
And while you’re there, you can browse their collection of vintage home goods, décor, records and other finds from decades past.

Little Free Libraries Around Wimberley
Some of the most fun places to find books in Wimberley don’t look like bookstores at all.
Little Free Libraries and neighborhood book-sharing boxes are scattered around the community. The idea is simple: take a book, leave a book, or do a little of both.
They’re especially fun with kids because the selection can change every time you visit. You might find picture books, young adult novels, mysteries, cookbooks, nonfiction or something completely unexpected.
