Chapel in the Hills has been part of Wimberley since 1949 and was established as a community church where Christians from different Protestant traditions could worship together.

Today, the congregation continues to describe itself as interdenominational and ecumenical. In addition to worship, opportunities to connect include Bible study, prayer groups, a Women’s Guild, choir and handbells, fellowship groups, a prayer-shawl ministry and community outreach.

Cypress Creek Church

Nondenominational Christian Church

Cypress Creek Church is a nondenominational Christian church with a strong emphasis on community groups and opportunities to connect outside Sunday worship.

The church offers groups for families, men, women and intergenerational groups throughout the Wimberley area, along with children’s, student and adult ministries and opportunities to serve locally.

Sunday Gatherings: 8:30 AM, 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM


First Baptist Church Wimberley

First Baptist Church Wimberley dates its history in the Wimberley area to 1884.

The church offers adult Life Groups, women’s and men’s ministries, children’s programs, student ministry, senior-adult activities, Bible studies and numerous ways to volunteer both within the church and in the Wimberley community.

Families will also find preschool and elementary programs along with AWANA during the school year.

Check the church’s current calendar for Sunday gathering times, as the church occasionally combines services for special series and seasons.


The Rock Church

The Rock Church began as Hill Country Cowboy Church in 2015 and adopted its new name, The Rock Church, in early 2025. The church describes itself as a Bible-based, family-focused community centered on helping people grow in their faith and build meaningful relationships.

The church offers children’s ministry, small groups, serving opportunities and other ways for families and individuals to connect.

St. Mary Catholic Church

St. Mary Catholic Church is Wimberley’s Catholic parish and is part of the Diocese of Austin.

The parish describes its congregation as a mix of young families and retirees and emphasizes worship, spiritual growth and service to the poor, young, elderly and those in need.

Current weekend Masses include:

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church sits on a beautiful Hill Country campus northeast of central Wimberley. The campus is also home to St. Stephen’s Episcopal School.

Wimberley United Methodist Church

The church is also familiar to many Wimberley residents as the home of Susanna’s Kitchen Coffee House Concerts, a longstanding local live-music series.
