There’s something special about fall in the Texas Hill Country. The mornings finally start to feel a little cooler, pumpkins begin appearing around town, outdoor festivals fill the weekends, and Wimberley settles into one of the best seasons of the year.
From handcrafted glass pumpkins and fields of brilliant orange marigolds to haunted trails, chili cook-offs, fall festivals and Wimberley’s beloved Community Thanksgiving Dinner, there’s plenty to look forward to from September through November.
Here are some of the best fall festivals, pumpkin patches, Halloween events and seasonal things to do in and around Wimberley in 2026.

Gourdgeous Glass Pumpkin Patch

This may be one of the most uniquely Wimberley ways to welcome fall.
Wimberley Glassworks fills its gallery with hundreds of handcrafted glass pumpkins, each made right here in the Wimberley Valley studio. The special Gourdgeous Glass Pumpkin Patch celebration takes place September 19, and the glass pumpkin collection remains available throughout October.
Sunset at the Stables: Fall Flower Crowns for You & the Horses

Spend golden hour with the horses while celebrating the last flowers of the season.
During this special Sunset at the Stables gathering, women will create flower crowns for themselves and their four-legged friends while spending an evening connecting with the horses, the land and one another. Eventbrite currently lists the experience from 6:30–8:30 PM.
Howl at the Moon Dance Party

Harvest Moon Sound Bath

Welcome the Harvest Moon with a peaceful evening sound bath at Greenery.
This one-hour meditative experience offers a chance to slow down, relax and enjoy a little stillness as the season changes. Admission is $10, with advance RSVP available through Greenery.
Pumpkin Patches, Farms & Fall Flowers

Wimberley United Methodist Church
One of Wimberley’s favorite fall traditions returns in October when the lawn at Wimberley United Methodist Church fills with pumpkins.
The WUMC Pumpkin Patch opens for pumpkin sales October 5 and runs through October 31, with volunteers staffing the patch daily from 10 AM–6 PM.
Even better, pumpkin purchases help support several local organizations and ministries. Proceeds from the patch are divided among:

The pumpkins arrive Sunday, October 4, with volunteers invited to help unload the truck following Sunday service.
Wimberley UMC Pumpkin Patch Kick-Off Party

Make a fall afternoon of it during the annual Pumpkin Patch Kick-Off Party.
Enjoy live music from Jay Sims and Reintarnation beginning at 2 PM, plus burgers, chips and drinks available for purchase.

Succulent Pumpkin DIY Fall Centerpiece Workshop

Get creative for fall during a Succulent Pumpkin DIY Fall Centerpiece Workshop with Rooted Treasures Succulents.
Guests will create their own seasonal pumpkin centerpiece topped with succulents and decorative moss while enjoying the Hill Country setting at Vista Brewing. No green thumb is required, and food and drinks will be available for purchase separately.
This is a pre-ticketed event, with a limited number of walk-up spots expected if space allows. Vista notes that the workshop has sold out in previous years, so advance tickets are recommended.

This one is close enough to Wimberley that we consider it part of our local fall fun.
Vista Brewing transforms its beautiful 21-acre Hill Country ranch into a family-friendly pumpkin patch and fall festival for five weeks.
Expect unique pumpkins for sale, fall photo opportunities, a hay maze, hay mountain, farm animals, activities for kids and locally made food and drinks.
It’s one of the easiest ways to get the full pumpkin-patch experience without going far from Wimberley.
Fall Marigold Season at Arnosky Family Farm

Pumpkins aren’t the only way to experience fall color in the Hill Country.
At Arnosky Family Farm, autumn means acres of brilliant orange and yellow marigolds. The farm has grown marigolds for decades, and the flowers have an especially meaningful connection with Día de los Muertos, when marigolds are traditionally used on ofrendas honoring loved ones who have died.
Arnosky has become a major source of Día de los Muertos marigolds in Texas, and fall visitors can see the flowers surrounding the iconic Big Blue Barn along with other seasonal blooms.

Formerly known as the Texas Marigold Festival, Spirits of Blanco celebrates the community, culture and fall traditions of Blanco — including the region’s famous marigolds.
The three-day festival takes place around the historic Old Blanco County Courthouse and includes markets, workshops, food and drink, family activities and connections to Arnosky Family Farm.

October Market Day is an especially fun one for fall shopping, with nearly 500 booths offering art, handmade goods, vintage finds, home décor, plants, clothing, gifts and more.

6th Annual Hogtoberfest

Celebrate Oktoberfest Hill Country-style at Roughhouse Brewing’s 6th Annual Hogtoberfest, just a short drive from Wimberley.

Two longtime Wimberley art events are becoming one in 2026.
The Wimberley Valley Art League is merging Wimberley Arts Fest and the Blue Agave Art Fair into a single fall festival featuring juried artists from around the country, live music, food and plenty of opportunities to find one-of-a-kind art.

Halloween in Wimberley

One of Wimberley’s biggest Halloween traditions returns to Blue Hole.
Families can enjoy a trick-or-treat trail, Halloween carnival games, live music, costume contest, photo booths and more. After dark, things get a little spookier with the Haunted Trail.

Blue Hole Haunted Trail

Once darkness falls, Blue Hole’s peaceful trails become considerably less peaceful.
The separately ticketed Haunted Trail is an immersive walk through the woods featuring local theater actors, eerie encounters and plenty of surprises.
Tickets are $5 per person, with half of proceeds benefiting Central Texas Theater Academy. Advance registration is required. The dedicated Haunted Trail page currently lists the experience from 8–9 PM, while the main BOO! Hole schedule lists the trail from 7:30–9 PM, so check the event page before arriving.
Sunset at the Stables: Horse Halloween Costume Contest

Wimberley Market Day

November Market Day is a great way to enjoy one more fall Market Day while getting a head start on holiday shopping.
Browse nearly 500 booths for handmade goods, antiques, art, décor, clothing and unique gifts. November 7 is the first Saturday of the month; check the Market Day site closer to the date for updated hours and entertainment.
Wimberley Film Festival

After Market Day, head over to Blue Hole for the 3rd Annual Wimberley Film Festival.
The outdoor festival combines film, music and the natural beauty of the Hill Country, beginning with live local music from 4:30–6:30 PM, followed by a showcase of documentary and experimental short films from 6:30–8 PM.
Early-bird tickets are $30, and children 10 and younger are free, although some films may be rated PG-13.

The annual Harvest Moon Dance is one of the Wimberley Institute of Cultures’ longtime community traditions.

One of the traditions that best represents the spirit of Wimberley happens on Thanksgiving Day.
The annual Wimberley Community Thanksgiving Dinner brings neighbors together for a Thanksgiving meal served by community volunteers.
Can’t make it to the Community Center? Meals can also be delivered to residents and visitors within 10 miles of the Community Center who are unable to attend. Volunteers and donations help make the annual dinner possible.

Thanksgiving weekend marks the unofficial transition from fall into Christmas in Wimberley.
The beloved EmilyAnn Trail of Lights opens November 28, transforming approximately eight acres into a walk-through display of holiday lights.
Admission is free, although donations are encouraged. Most nights also feature entertainment, complimentary marshmallows and hot chocolate around the Yule Log and visits from Santa. (Visit Wimberley Texas)

If you’re willing to venture a little farther from Wimberley, there are several big Central Texas fall traditions worth adding to the calendar.
Sweet Berry Farm — Harvest of Fall Fun

For the classic big pumpkin-patch experience, Sweet Berry Farm is hard to beat.
The farm’s Harvest of Fall Fun includes pumpkins, hayrides, the Texas Maze, Candy Corn Maze, barrel train, goats, pumpkin painting, scarecrow stuffing, flower picking and plenty of fall photo opportunities.
Comal County Fair & Rodeo
September 23–27

One of the biggest traditional fall events within an easy drive of Wimberley, the Comal County Fair & Rodeo returns for five days of classic Texas fair fun.
The fair, which organizers describe as the largest county fair in Central Texas, includes carnival rides and games, livestock shows, arts and crafts exhibits, food vendors, live entertainment, competitions, a major downtown parade and several nights of rodeo action.
The 31st Annual PRCA Rodeo takes place Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 PM, with gates opening two hours before each performance. A Backyard Bull Riding event follows on Sunday at 2 PM.
One of the highlights is the Comal County Fair Parade on Friday, September 25 at 9:00 AM, one of Central Texas’ largest county fair parades.
2026 Fair Hours: Wednesday 5–11 PM; Thursday 4–11 PM; Friday 8 AM–midnight; Saturday 8 AM–1 AM; and Sunday 8 AM–10 PM. Wednesday and Sunday offer free general fair admission; other days have varying admission prices.
Uhland Fall Fest

Uhland Fall Fest takes over a shaded 15-acre historic farmstead for six weekends.
Expect pumpkins, animals, live entertainment, games, food, photo opportunities and artisan vendors.
Fredericksburg Oktoberfest

Celebrate Fredericksburg’s German heritage with three days of music, dancing, food, drinks, competitions, artisan vendors and family activities.
The 2026 Oktoberfest runs Friday evening through Sunday and features live entertainment across multiple stages.
Sacred Springs Powwow

The Meadows Center | San Marcos
One of the largest and most distinctive fall events in nearby San Marcos, the Sacred Springs Powwow celebrates Native culture through traditional dance, drumming, music, food, storytelling and art.
More than 6,000 attendees are expected, along with hundreds of dancers and more than 50 arts and crafts vendors.
Hell Country Haunt

Dripping Springs Ranch Park
For those who prefer their fall activities genuinely scary, Hell Country Haunt brings a haunted hayride and haunted-house attraction to Dripping Springs Ranch Park.
Multiple nights are scheduled throughout October, including a special Blackout Hour for those looking for an even more intense experience.

Camp Fimfo starts its fall season with Pumpkin Picnic weekends before shifting into full Halloween mode.

New Braunfels Día de los Muertos Festival

Downtown New Braunfels
The 10th Annual New Braunfels Día de los Muertos Festival is expected to draw more than 7,000 people.
The free downtown celebration features three live-music stages, mariachis, folklórico and Aztec dancers, a procession, community ofrenda, art exhibition, children’s activities and more than 100 vendors.
SMART Orchestra Symphonic Spooktacular

Goodnight Middle School | San Marcos
If you’re looking for something a little different from pumpkin patches and Halloween carnivals, this sounds especially fun.
SMART Orchestra’s Symphonic Spooktacular brings spooky classical music to San Marcos, with selections from Bach, Mussorgsky and Saint-Saëns along with The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
Spirits of Blanco

Wurstfest

New Braunfels
Keep festival season going into November at one of Central Texas’ biggest fall traditions.
Wurstfest brings 10 days of German and Texan food, live music, dancing, carnival rides, games and Alpine and Bavarian-style entertainment to New Braunfels.
