The nonprofit offers art classes, workshops, summer camps and family art programs for area students.

Central Texas Theatre Academy

For kids who love acting, musicals or being on stage, Central Texas Theatre Academy (CTTA) is one of Wimberley’s best resources for youth performing arts.

Located at Plaza del Sol on Ranch Road 12, the nonprofit theatre academy provides theatre education for children and teens, with programs designed to build acting skills along with confidence, empathy, teamwork, focus and creative thinking.

CTTA programs serve a wide range of ages, with many classes and camps designed for children approximately ages 5–18. Their summer offerings have included everything from mythology and Shakespeare camps for younger children to multi-week musical theatre and Shakespeare intensives for older students.

The academy also produces full-scale youth shows, giving students the opportunity to take what they learn in class and perform for a live audience.

Wimberley Youth Sports Association (WYSA)

For kids who want to get involved in local sports, the Wimberley Youth Sports Association (WYSA) is one of the first places families should check.

WYSA is a volunteer-run community organization that helps organize and support youth athletics in the Wimberley area. Programs and registration opportunities can vary by season and currently include:

Wimberley FC Soccer

Wimberley FC offers recreational and competitive soccer opportunities for children at multiple ages and skill levels.

The recreational program begins with U4–U8 coed teams, with older U10 and U12 boys and girls divisions also available. Younger recreational teams primarily practice and play at the Johnson Family Soccer Fields at Blue Hole Regional Park, while some older teams also travel to Dripping Springs for games.

Fall and spring seasons are offered, and registration takes place well before the first games, so families interested in playing should watch the WYSA website for upcoming registration dates.

Wimberley Boxing Club

The Wimberley Boxing Club is also part of WYSA and offers coed boxing programs for children and teens beginning at age 7, along with a dedicated homeschool boxing option.

Blue Hole Nature Camp

Blue Hole Nature Camp is one of Wimberley Parks & Recreation’s most popular summer programs.

Children spend their days at Blue Hole Regional Park participating in outdoor activities, environmental education, games and hands-on nature experiences.

The 2026 camp season ran in weekly sessions from late May through early August.

Older kids may also have opportunities to participate through the Counselor in Training program.
