Support Groups & Recovery Meetings in Wimberley, TX

hands together support groups in wimberley

Sometimes what you’re looking for isn’t an event or a social club. It’s a place to find support, connect with people who understand what you’re going through or take the next step toward recovery.

Wimberley and the surrounding Hill Country offer several recovery meetings, caregiver groups, grief programs, peer-support groups and other resources for individuals and families.

Because meeting schedules can change frequently, Wimberley Buzz does not list every recurring support-group meeting individually on our main event calendar. Instead, this guide connects you with the groups themselves and, whenever possible, their official meeting finders or current schedules.

Wimberley Al-Anon Family Groups

Al-Anon is for family members and friends whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking.

You do not need to be related to the person, and the person with an alcohol problem does not need to be in recovery or attending AA for you to participate.

Wimberley has an active Al-Anon community with local and online meeting options.

Because Al-Anon meeting times and formats can change, the Austin Al-Anon/Alateen Information Center recommends using the official Al-Anon meeting finder for the most current information.

Overeaters Anonymous

Wimberley also has a local Overeaters Anonymous (OA) meeting.

OA is a Twelve-Step fellowship for people dealing with compulsive eating and related food behaviors. There are no required diets, weigh-ins or membership fees.

The official OA directory currently lists an in-person Wimberley meeting at:

Wimberley Presbyterian Church
956 FM 2325
Wimberley, TX 78676

Because meeting details can change, use the official OA finder for the current day, time and contact information.

Grief & Loss Support

GriefShare at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church hosts GriefShare, a faith-based grief-support program for people who have experienced the death of a loved one.

GriefShare is generally offered as a multi-week series rather than a year-round drop-in meeting. Sessions combine videos featuring grief experts and personal stories with group discussion and opportunities to connect with others experiencing loss.

The Fall 2026 Wimberley GriefShare group is currently meeting at St. Stephen’s, with the current session running through November.

Because new sessions are offered periodically, use the GriefShare finder to see whether registration is currently open.
